Mountain biking

Through forest routes and paths, you can see the forests of mountainous Trikala, the alpine lake of Dasia located at an altitude of 1500m, the cave of Hermes in Zireia. Admire the wild horses that you will encounter on the mountain plateaus. 

Jeeping

Feel the experience of exploration and absolute adventure in mountainous Corinthia with 4×4 routes. A unique and adventurous way to explore and discover the natural beauties of mountainous Corinthia is through Jeep 4X4 routes.

Cross country skiing

Test your limits – if you’re a beginner – with the 150-meter sliding lift (baby lift) – if you’re advanced – with the multiple ability levels ski slope where there is also a 400m long sliding lift.

Hiking – Climbing

Zireia or Killini is the second highest mountain of Peloponnese. Here you can explore vast forests which cover a large part of the mountain. Black pine trees and Greek fir trees dominate and create a lush landscape. In the area there are also oak trees, elm trees, plane trees and many rare and even endangered plants and wildflowers. The region’s fauna is also significant.
ATV Tour

Explore the mountain with two-seat ATVs and Buggies. There is a wide variety of routes to choose from, such as the Great Plateau, Dassia Lake, Skafidia, the round of the mountain etc. This activity is available all year round and is as exciting as it sounds.

Bungee jumping

Zireia Ski Center (10km)

On the plateau of Zirreia (or Killini), at an altitude of 1500 meters, just 10 kilometers from the tourist resort of Trikala of Corinthia, the Zireia ski resort operates since 2007. It is one of the newest ski resorts of the country, the closest to Attica and is ideal for beginners and families with children who want to take their first skiing steps as well as for advanced skiers.

Stymphalia (50km)

Stymphalia one of Greece’s rare, marshy mountain  lakes, is situated in Corinthia, and is the southernmost mountain wetland of the Balkans. The Stymphalian Birds with their iron beaks inhabited these marshes and the neighboring forests and used to attack on people and crops. Saving the inhabitants from the diseases and the drainage of the swamps is obviously associated with the myth referred to Hercules who arrived there and exterminated them.

The Environment Museum of Stymphalia, a modern building fully harmonized with the landscape around Stymphalia, aims to demonstrate the interdependence of man and nature as well as their harmonious coexistence in Stymphalia basin. The ecological value of the area, with a focus on the water basin and its rich forests, is confirmed by its inclusion in the European Network of Protected Areas NATURA 2000.

Mycenae (90km)

The “Golden” Mycenae, the city of the mythical king Atreus and Agamemnon, mentioned by Homer and excavated by Heinrich Schliemann, is one of the most important and most famous archaeological sites in Greece. The Mycenaean citadel remains an exciting place until nowadays. The rich archaeological findings of the region (crowns, frescoes, the golden mask of Agamemnon, etc.) are exhibited in the Archaeological Museum of Athens.

Olympia (160km)

The heart of the Olympic Games is located in Olympia. Every four years, just as in antiquity, people leave their hostility behind and a fair competition starts. The golden-ivory statue of Zeus, which was recorded as one of the Seven Wonders of the World, was located in the outstanding sanctuary of Olympia.

Ancient Sikyon (30km)

Ancient Sikyon is located in western Corinthia, 3 km southwest of Kiato. The archaeological site of Ancient Sikyon lies on a plateau of Vasilikos hill. It consists of the excavated part of the Agora of the Hellenistic and Roman city, the Theater, the Stadium and the Roman Baths (Valanio), which have been converted into a Museum.

Ancient Corinth – Acrocorinth – Isthmus of Corinth (60km)

The settlement of Acrocorinth which was built at the foot of the ancient city, dates back to 4000 BC. In the archaeological site the Archaeological Museum is situated (fully renovated and modernized) which exhibits a collection of findings ranging from prehistoric years to Roman and Byzantine times. It is worth seeing the great Mycenaean crater (about 1200 BC), the Corinthian amphora with a cap (600 BC) etc.

In Acrocorinth (the residence of Sun God!), 3.5 km south of ancient Corinth, at the top of a hill of 575 m height, the fortified citadel of Corinth exists, which is the oldest, largest and most imposing castle of Peloponnese.

In the canal of Corinth: The idea of ​​the canal that connects the Saronic Gulf with the Corinthian Gulf was conceived by Periadros (6th century BC), but finally the canal was opened after the independence of Greece, during the period 1882-1893. It is 6.346 m long, 24.6 m wide at the sea surface, and 8 m deep.

Nemea – Ancient Nemea (90km)

Nemea is the largest wine-growing zone of Greece and Balkans with a total area of ​​25,000 acres of vineyards. The region is suitable for wine tourism and wine tasting as it is the home of the local grape variety, Agiorgitiko. Do not miss the opportunity to visit the Archaeological Museum of Ancient Nemea as well as the ancient Stadium, undoubtedly the most important archaeological sites of Nemea.

Epidaurus (131km)

The theater of Epidaurus emerges, as you ascend from the entrance, like a huge hug waiting for you to introduce you to the mysteries of the ancient tragedy or to the cheerfulness of the ancient comedy. Famous for its acoustics, this theater can offer you unforgettable moments of excitement whether you are visiting it as a traveler or as a spectator.
